April Hendricks

Partner

April Hendricks is a partner at Jewell Jimmerson Natural Resources Law, where she brings more than a decade of experience in Colorado water rights, land use, and real estate. She focuses on advising landowners, government entities, developers, and industrial users across the state on the issues that are most important to Colorado’s water users.

April’s practice includes helping her clients successfully navigate the complexities of water rights adjudications, real estate transactions, development approvals, and long-term water planning. Her experience ranges broadly from all aspects of water rights transactions to litigation involving complex water matters, including new and conditional water rights, augmentation plans and exchanges, changes of water rights, and diligence proceedings. Whether she’s guiding a municipality through a multi-party water rights case or helping a landowner navigate land use approvals, she brings clarity, strategy, and a strong sense of partnership to every client relationship.

April’s clients include a multi-county regional water conservancy district, one of the state’s largest industrial water users, numerous local water suppliers, nonprofit organizations, real estate developers, agricultural users, and individual water users. April is dedicated to building lasting relationships with her clients and, moreover, helping them succeed in an evolving legal and environmental landscape.

Originally from Arkansas, April moved west after earning her J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2012, where she focused her studies on environmental and natural resources law. She quickly found her professional home in Colorado, drawn to its unique legal challenges and vibrant communities. Today, she’s not only an advocate for her clients, but also an engaged voice in the state’s legal and natural resources communities.

Outside the office, you’re likely to find April spending time with her family and dogs, exploring Colorado’s trails, taking photos,  or diving into a good book — always staying connected to the landscape and people that inspire her work.
